We celebrated our 4th year of being together this weekend by going to Niagara-on-the-Lake (courtesy of an awesome wedding gift from our good friends - thank you guys!). I hadn't been to Niagara-on-the-Lake since I was a small kid and my aunt lived there. It's so cute! We stayed at the Pillar and Post, and ate a super delicious (perfectly gluten free!) dinner at The Cannery, which is a restaurant in the hotel.
We ate lunch (and breakfast the next morning) at The Irish Tea Room, which was so yummy. It's kind of tucked at the back of an Irish themed store, but it had lots of gluten free options (see the menu on the table below), and the entire display case of baked goods was gluten free! Jay tried the Split Pea Soup, The Barm Brack (like a dense raisin bread that we didn't super love), and a Cheese and Broccoli Quiche for breakfast the next morning (the quiche was awesome, I stole a bite!). I had the Celtic Shepherds Pie (so good!) and the carrot cake (also great).
It was so nice to escape for a weekend... although we weren't actually THAT far from home, it was great to be together with none of the distractions that are always present at our house.
To top it off, last night Jay finally felt the baby kicking for the first time! So exciting! For weeks she has been kicking and kicking and he has been running over only to have her immediately hide when his hand touches my tummy.
