Driving, Turning 30, and Three Years of Blogging!
I haven't blogged in a while. I would apologize, except I'm not in the least sorry! Sometimes you just need a break from the internet. It was amazing. However, I missed my third year of blogging anniversary in the summer. Oops! It's hard to believe I've stuck it out this long. It's hard to believe how much my writing and illustrating has improved.
Another thing that happened is that I got my license (sort of... G2 is like a license, except you can't have any alcohol until you get a full G). So now I am nervously zooming around Hamilton, trying not to make people angry or get lost. It's been a huge learning curve since my test (that I almost failed... which is what happens when you release the parking break and almost back over the test guy before even leaving the parking lot). If you see me around, be nice and give me lots of space to change lanes, since I have a tendency to get so nervous about changing lanes that I will drive around the block three times to avoid it, which is what happened when I went to the doctor yesterday.
Stop judging me.
ANOTHER thing that happened in my blogging break is that I turned 30! This is the first birthday that I have had any trepidation about, but I woke up as a 30 year old feeling... exactly the same. Ha! Not surprising, really, being only one day older than the day before. I have some amazing female role models, who remind me that aging actually means you know more what you want from life and you don't take any flack about it. I'm pretty psyched to be 30, and see what the next decade has in store for me.
I've been pretty busy lately with commissions, which is a good thing (but also the reason for less blogging). But hopefully I can share some of the new paintings with you all soon! Hope you are all having a lovely week!
