Introducing Molly!

Introducing Molly!

Molly & Jay, after a somewhat sleepless night.

Molly & Jay, after a somewhat sleepless night.

We had a baby! Her name is Molly Beth and she came Monday March 2nd at 11:34am. She is 22 inches long and 8lbs 11oz. My water broke in the middle of an Ikea, which was horrifying because I was all like "I NEED A WASHROOM RIGHT NOW!" and Jay is like "We have to just follow the arrows, like everybody else". And then I stood at the checkout while he ran to buy some towels for the seat of the car. Is there anything more humiliating than standing in an Ikea checkout line looking like you just peed your pants five times in a row? No. The answer is no. I cried all the way home in the car.

I was induced that night and gave birth the next morning! We were in the hospital for 5 days because Molly has jaundice, but now we are super glad to be home!

My mom has been a total godsend this week. She was there during the labour and delivery, and since we have been home she has been here regularly to make meals, tidy, and hold the baby while Jay and I try desperately to nap. Especially that first day home, when I could barely walk or go to the bathroom, it was so great for her to be here.

This is when we had just gotten home from the hospital!

So that's about that! Now we are home, learning to breastfeed and take care of a tiny person. The cats and Finnegan are pretty confused about why we would bring home something that screams this much!
