I bought a new sketchbook, and I think I'll keep it for flowers. It's thick enough to withstand some watercolour washes, and has a lovely rag edge. It's good to take notes on things like how the stems connect to the flowers and how the light hits the petals, for when I horribly and disastrously murder each plant with too much handling and prodding. That's what happened to this hydrangea. If other hydrangeas saw what happened to this one, they would faint in horror. I tried to revive it, but it only made everything worse.
Sigh. What's the opposite of having a green thumb? Black thumb?
It's the weekend! We have big plans to take Finn to the dog park, celebrate Father's day with Jay's family, gardening, painting, and reading. What are the rest of you up to?
