My Grandparent's House

My Grandparent's House

The grass never looked this good. Artistic license!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I painted this watercolour for my uncle as part of our Secret Santa gift exchange, it's a recreation of the house that my mom's whole family grew up in, in Toronto. Some of my earliest memories are of Christmas dinners in this house, and rolling down these little hills in my snowsuit. It's such a classic "Toronto" house look, but in my eyes it just screams "Grandpa's house!". I was dying to post it here and share it, but it had to stay secret until my uncle opened his gift.

Did you all have a great holiday? Finn ate Christmas cookies, onion dip, four dog toys that weren't his, a cat toy, my mitten, my hair while we were driving, a plushy toy that my aunt bought him, a log, four snotty tissues, some coconut that I dropped on the floor, Brenna's Christmas morning coffee, pine needles, a small bone (swallowed it whole), two big bones (one he chewed in half), a stuffed bear that wasn't a dog toy, and some snow. Pretty sure Christmas is his favourite holiday.
