Works In Progress: Mushroom Aster, Teal Playdate Cardi, Ribbed Socks, and a Watercolour of Flowers
I was thinking I might aim to post a picture of what I've been working on every week (maybe every Wednesday). So here we go!
Top left: A Playdate Cardigan (pattern by TinCan Knits) for my future niece or nephew due in April! I'm using Cascade 220 Superwash Sport in Teal (purchased at Hand Knit Yarn Studio), and making the 1-3 month size. It was a fast knit so far, in comparison to all the socks that have been going on. It just needs sleeves, weaving in ends, and blocking!
Top Right: I started and finished an Aster Shirt (pattern by Colette Patterns) in a pink mushroom printed quilting cotton that I purchased at Needlework a long time ago. The buttons are vintage.
Bottom Right: My amazing friend Courtney surprise sent me this self striping sock yarn by Biscotte Yarns in the colourway "Leaky Cauldron" and I was SO EXCITED that I dropped pretty much all other projects and have done nothing but knit on this one sock for two and a half days now. I realize that the colours look slightly insane but I am obsessed, and it's so fun to knit with the colours always changing! I am thinking of these as my "Wizard disguised as a muggle" socks.
Bottom Left: A watercolour in progress of the bouquet of flowers Jay got me for Valentines Day, painted from above. It's my first painting in a year and how I feel when I am working on it is not really describable in words but these are some random words that come to mind: breathing, fluid, frustration, sigh, loss, happiness. It's hard to find time to paint, as it requires sitting down uninterrupted for long stretches. I am aware that the flowers will likely pass their prime long before I complete this painting, but I took many pictures so hopefully that helps.
What are you guys working on?
